peterdengDeng Opportunities Foundation is thankful to Champlain College professor Scott Baker. Scott invited Deng Opportunities Foundation founder Peter Deng to speak to his International Relations class. We are so honored to have this opportunity. Since the initiation of DOF (formerly NSJOF) in 2010, Peter had give talk to good number of classes and his talk has inspired many. Peter is a gifted keynote speaker on the quandary of the orphaned children of Jonglei State of South Sudan and on his personal story as an orphan child at young age in Jonglei State. He went through the difficult life that none of us can’t imagine. Most importantly, people describe Peter as natural speaker. Thanks to Scott Baker for giving Peter this opportunity to speak to his class.

lineup-blog On 18th August 2011, the tribal clashes occurred in Pieri payam in Jonglei state-South Sudan leaving over 640 people dead and more than 170 orphan children were left with nobody looking after them. The South Sudan Presbyterian evangelical church became a Good Samaritan and offered their compound as orphan children’s trauma and healing center to give them spiritual hope to relieve the children from post trauma stress disorders. The center also gives them food with the help from world food program and other nongovernmental organizations such as DOF.
